REVA NXR and NXG Electric Car

At midday on Wednesday 16th September 2009 Reva Electric Car Company (REVA) will be unveiling two new M1 classified electric cars at the 63rd Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA).

The REVA NXR is a four-seat, three-door hatchback family car suitable for urban driving that can be ordered at the show, with production scheduled to commence at the beginning of 2010.

The showcar, REVA's model for 2011, is the REVA NXG; a sporty two-seater with a targa roof that was designed by Dilip Chhabria of the internationally renowned automotive design company DC Design.

Another world-first for REVA at The IAA is the launch of REVive, a technology unique to REVA that addresses 'range anxiety' and acts like an invisible reserve fuel tank. The customer just has to telephone or SMS REVA for an instant remote recharge should they run out of charge. Both the REVA NXR and the REVA NXG will feature the REVive telematics technology. Further technology and pricing announcements will be made at the IAA.

REVA's new website, Revaglobal.com, will go live at the time of the vehicle launches in Frankfurt and customers can register on the priority list for the new cars on-line.

REVA is the brand of the Reva Electric Car Company, a Bangalore-based company formed as a joint venture between Maini Group of India and AEV LLC of California and backed by US investors Global Environment Fund and Draper Fisher Jurvetson.

Today, REVA is selling, or being test marketed, in 24 countries worldwide and has the largest deployed fleet of electric cars on the market with over 3,000 EVs on the road and more than 70 million kilometres of user experience.

The company is building a new ultra low carbon vehicle assembly plant in Bangalore India, with a capacity of 30,000 units per annum, to accommodate increased production and is planning to introduce even more measures to ensue that it has the cleanest and greenest production.

2010 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Revealed

Porsche has officially revealed “the most powerful 911″ street legal sport car the new 911 GT3 RS. The car will be debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show and will go on sale in Germany in early 2010.

Designing to be the supreme rear-veer impel sports car, the RS skin a bespoke account of the GT3’s 3.8-liter boxer engine. Peak yield climbs to 450 hp, which is 15 hp more than the model GT3. New 2010 Volkswagen T5 Van Facelift

Volkswagen has officially revealed fist photos and details on the new redesigned Transporter, Caravelle, Multivan and California minivans with new features. All VW’s T5 line-up will be introduced at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show and go on sale in the middle of October.

The front ends of these vehicles have been reshaped to look like flow Polos and Golfs. The ribs on the front grille are black, the rear fog light will now act as static cornering lights. Some models facet black, high spin ribs, each highlighted with a chrome streak while the headlights have also been given a facelift.

New 4-cylinder turbo diesel engines with usual rail technology are integral. The 2.0 TDI has command records of 62 kW (84PS), 75kW (102PS), 103kW (140PS) or 132kW (180PS). The 132kW type features a “two-period mount with bi-turbocharging technology.” Maximum torque figures are 220Nm from 1250rpm, 250Nm from 1500rpm, 340Nm from 1750rpm and 400Nm from 1500rpm respectively. All the engines have a particle filter.

Volkswagen says the T5 series has achieved an improvement of 10% general in C02 emissions and fuel consumption. When coupled to the new 7-pace dual clutch gearbox the 132kW motor can abandon fuel consumption by up to 1.9 litres compared to the earlier 6-rate repeated gearbox.

Exterior tools includes a worthy of 16-creep, 17-crawl or 18-inch alloy wheels, Side Help path change junior to overseer blind spots and external mirrors which now house the aerial usage. New Peugeot RCZ Coupe Officially Revealed

Kia Venga MPV Revealed ahead Frankfurt Debut (details and photos)

Kia Motors has revealed first official photos of the all-new small-MPV car called the Venga. The new model will be designed, engineered and manufactured in Europe and should become a major rival the Opel Meriva and Citroen C3 Picasso when it goes on selling across Europe later this year and in the UK early in 2010.

The Korean automaker says that the 4,068 mm long Venga, which skin a 2,615 mm wheelbase and a 1,600 mm high roofline, offers interior interim usual of a superior C-segment vehicle, but within a B-segment imprints. Kia’s baby MPV model will be equipped with a sliding 60/40 divorce rear seat that folds fixed into the plane to unfetter more payload seat and a twin-level gumboot level while a slope-and-slide all-goblet panoramic roof will also be in the menu.

New Special Edition Suzuki Swift SZ-L

Suzuki has added a new limited edition SZ-L model to the Swift range.

The new Suzuki Swift SZ-L is based on the 1.3-litre GL five-door model, but it features more equipment as standard.

This includes air conditioning, pearlescent or metallic paint, 15-inch alloy wheels, side protection mouldings, interior carpet mats and a chrome finish for the exterior door handles, front grille and rear tailgate trim.

Inside, chrome bezels are added to the instrument meters and the door trims and stereo have aluminium effect detailing.

Power comes from the 91bhp 1.3-litre petrol engine, which helps the SZ-L get from 0-62mph in 11 seconds before reaching a top speed of 109mph. Combined fuel economy is 48.7mpg and CO2 emissions are 140g/km.

Just 500 models will be produced, with prices starting at £10,250.

Toyota Previews Auris Hybrid

Toyota today dropped an official photograph of the Auris HSD Full Hybrid Concept, which will be displayed for the very first time at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show. In essence, it's a pre-production model lightly guised as a concept that previews Toyota's first European-built full hybrid that will be produced in the UK with sales scheduled to start in mid-2010.

The Japanese automaker said that the Auris Hybrid represents a milestone in the firm's strategy as it will be the first mainstream Toyota (obviously, the company doesn't count the Prius as a mainstream model...) to benefit from the company's full hybrid technology and the first step in the deployment of Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD) across the company's model range.

This means that like the Prius, the Auris Hybrid will most likely be able to run on its electric motor(s), the internal combustion engine or a combination of the two. There's been no hint from Toyota on the type of engine that will be used on the Auris Hybrid.

We've only got a single photo of the car to go by, but it is evident that the hybrid version of the Auris will feature a number of specific exterior styling cues to differentiate it from the standard model.

These include the reshaped headlights with blue rings, a unique grille with a highlighted Toyota logo and the redesigned front bumper. We also see that the Auris Hybrid's rooftop features what appears to be a solar panel.
